Most of you will focus more on disk space, the offered monthly transfer limit, and other basic features when comparing web hosting plans. There are actually several other recommended features to look into, especially if you plan on using advanced web script and application on the server.

SSH access is definitely a huge plus. If you use CGI scripts to complete various automated scripts and automatic tasks, having SSH access means being able to test the CGI scripts you plan on using directly on the server. You can also execute different commands and access your web pages directly on the server.

The right control panel or admin interface will also make the task of maintaining your server a lot easier to complete. Although cPanel is the most common one used by top web hosting companies, there are also proprietary control panel applications used by several other companies. Be sure to give the control panel a try before you finalize your purchase decision.

Don’t forget to check if the web hosting plan you are getting allows you to host multiple domain names and add unlimited subdomain names without hassle. If you want to provide direct access to your blog as part of the online store you are running, for example, you can set up a subdomain (i.e. blog.yourdomain.com) for the purpose.

Before I begin, I just want to say that I have absolutely no expectations that this search engine optimizing website will ever achieve any significant ranking in the search engines, especially for keywords such as: “search engine optimization” or “search engine optimizing”. Maybe, just maybe I could rank for “search engine optimizing services”, but that is also a grand expectation.

I am being completely honest, because I know that those are powerful search terms, and that there are companies with large company staffs, huge budgets, countless hours to spend submitting social media content, building backlinks, developing partnerships, and working with established sites and foundations of experience, wisdom, and experimentation in search engine optimization (SEO).

Me? I am a writer with no fountain of resources other than my ability to ramble on with a keyboard, and a relevant domain name. How much power can that hold in itself? I have a free WordPress blog with some keywords tagged, some non-specific content, no direct goal, and no budget. I do know how to say “search engine optimizing services” over and over again (does that trick still work?), and I do know to create original content, in more or less perfect English.

This is not to say that I don’t know anything about optimizing websites for search engines, because I do, and I have many other websites that do very well in the results, thank you very much–just not for this competitive search term. I realize and appreciate that this is an industry unto itself, and there are literally thousands of businesses competing for top spots for these specific terms, as well as some longer keyword phrases (like my domain title).

I figure that since I own the domain name www.searchengineoptimizingservices.com, I might as well create a blog and talk about some successes in search engine results, rather than have the domain parked, and earn nothing from it. I suspect that I will be able to post more articles, earn a modest amount of revenue from Adsense, and I can say that I own the most relevant domain possible for this type of service, namely search engine optimizing. I think that’s not a bad start if you’re going to start on the ground and go completely vertical with a passive goal in mind.

Anyways, I thank you for visiting, and having a read. I look forward to generating some income, and writing some more original stuff on search engine optimizing (services).
